I vaguely remember the game, but mostly I was just trying to stay awake and grok the rules. I'll have to watch out for the three acts next time I play!

Cheers,

JackJackson Popehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12685562784078130612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21988030.post-7960593573453172032017-06-12T08:56:12.848+01:002017-06-12T08:56:12.848+01:00The Netrunner meta was often described as being in...The Netrunner meta was often described as being in three phases. Not quite the same but interesting nevertheless.

Assuming you vaguely know/remember how to play the game:

Phase 1: Runner is on top as the Corporation has no defense in place or the means to pay to it. Runner can run at will without risk and tries to maximise the points they gain whilst extending this phase.

Phase 2: Corporation is on top as they have some defenses in play. Runner doesn't have the means to cope with likely scenarios but is vulnerable to taking damage as they have cards in play that they want to keep. Corporation tries to extend this part of the game to maximise the points they can score.

Phase 3: Corporation is mighty powerful but the runner also has a fully developed tableau and, given a bit of time to build up money, can basically break in anywhere. So runner is on top if they're know what they're doing but corporation can use guile/deception/bluff/misdirection/subtlety to try and win before the runner does.

So as with your three act point the games is constantly evolving.

Lost Cities is a good example of a similar point as either one of you might be trying to speed/slow the game down and may change your mind (e.g as you decide to start a 4th suit) at any time.Hoopyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05283550656340713810noreply@blogger.com
