Sumeria Sketch

I've just received a sketch idea for the Sumeria box cover from Harald (the artist).

As usual, click on the image to see a larger version.

It's a first draft idea for the cover of the box. I love it. Especially the rich, red colour scheme, the Sumeria font and the hieroglyphs in the background at the top. What does everyone else make of it?

Pretty awesome, but... I can't help feeling it could do with a bit more contrast. And possibly some people (traders) on the road. Composition-wise though, it's ace. :)

Hiya Mal,

It may well end up with traders on the road, this is only a sketch after all. I see your point about the contrast - I quite like it as it is though, the orangey-red is quite striking.

Cheers,

Jack

I think the composition is great, and the golden red colours look really rich.

Finally, I have somehing to stick on the front of my tatty box.

Hiya Steve & Fred,

Thanks for your comments. I'm already very pleased with Harald, and he hasn't done any final art yet!

Cheers,

Jack

I like it. It is sort of old school, like the AH flat box games. In fact it evokes the cover of "Caesar: Epic Battle at Alesia" though the composition is much different.

Hiya Todd,

Yeah, the colour scheme is pretty similar. I've no experience of the old AH flat box games though, so I don't know whether it looks much like them.

Cheers,

Jack
